Chief Judges of the 17th Circuit

All Municipal Courts were abolished when Article V was adopted. It has been amended a number of times since ratification of the 1968 Constitution. Most notably, the voters approved extensive amendments in 1972 to create a unified state courts system, placing all lower courts under the administrative supervision of Florida’s chief justice.
James F. Minnet was grandfathered as Chief Judge.
Judge Ferris was the first elected Chief Judge.
