Alexandra Hershorn

BIO

Alexandra Hershorn is an associate attorney at Cohen, Blostein & Ayala PA in the firm’s plaintiff division and focuses on medical malpractice litigation. She received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida in 2015, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2018. She was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year and is licensed to practice in all Florida state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Cohen, Blostein & Ayala, P.A., Alexandra was an Assistant Public Defender with the Public Defender’s Office, 17th Judicial Circuit. She routinely managed caseloads of over 300 cases, argued motions, and represented clients at trial. She uses her courtroom experience to effectively advocate on behalf of her clients in the civil sphere.

Alexandra has been appointed to the Florida Bar Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee. She is also a member of the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee for the 17th Judicial Circuit and graduated from Class VII of the Florida Bar Leadership Academy. She is also active in the Stephen R. Booher Inn of Courts, and a Big Sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.

POSITION STATEMENT

I believe that as a lawyer, my commitment is not only to my clients, but to the other members of our profession, along with our community at large. Practicing law is a privilege, and I honor that privilege through service to others. I am dedicated to elevating our profession through work on the YLS Board of Directors, and giving back to our community through service. I look forward to future opportunities to commit myself to this work and appreciate that the furtherance of these two principles can be fulfilled simultaneously by being part of the Broward County Bar Association YLS Board.
