A true native, Cody grew up in Broward County and has lived here for nearly thirty years. During law school, Cody served on the Journal of Complex Litigation, won various CALI Book Awards, received numerous Dean’s List honors, and received the Public Service Commendation. He also completed internships with a Broward County Circuit Court Judge and the State Attorney’s Office of the 17th Judicial Circuit.
Cody is a Senior Associate with Black Law PA where he litigates a wide range of disputes, including business, real estate, and probate. Cody started his career exclusively assisting consumers in severe financial distress and has since had the privilege to represent a wide range of clients. From Cody’s perspective, there is no client too big or too small. Whether it’s representing a homeowner in state court or a Fortune 500 company in federal court, Cody takes great pride in what he does.
My passion for law and love for my community made the opportunity to run for Broward YLS Board a no-brainer. My litigation career has demanded attention to detail, time-management, and the ability to execute on a goal. I believe these traits will contribute greatly to the performance of my duties on the YLS Board. I also feel strongly about the need to mentor law students, young lawyers, and simply those seeking to enter the legal profession. I am hopeful my desire to help others and grow as a lawyer will translate well into a Board position. Whether attending panels or planning community events, I am excited about the prospect of serving alongside some of the best lawyers South Florida has to offer.
